This class runs from 10am to 5pm on each day.
We have been inundated with requests to organise a class teaching sugarcraft on our Instagram and Facebook pages. Specifically, we have had numerous requests from students for a week long class focussing on realistic sugar flowers. So here we have not one but two sugar flower classes with the superbly talented Graziella Augier of Design Sucré. We do not think that you will find a sugar craft teacher more passionate about sugar flowers and teaching sugar flowers than Graziella! (link to blog post)
This class is perfect for students with intermediate level sugarcraft skills. If you have made sugar flowers before and used a ball tool to frill petals, you will be fine in this class. You will work with very thinly rolled out florist paste in this class. If you have some experience of this, it will come in handy. If you are unsure about your skill level, please give us a ring on 0208 305 1756 to have a chat before you book your place. Alternatively, you can always book a two day Beginners class that will be held immediately before this course starts.
The image below is a ranunculus display that won Graziella a GOLD MEDAL at Cake International held in London, 2016!
In this five day class, you will learn
How to make a stunning full size realistic rose
How to make realistic rose leaves, complete with a shiny glaze
How to make a realistic rose bud
How to make a realistic sugar hibiscus flower
How to make an intricate sugar lily with handmade stamen and carpel
How to make beautiful cattleya orchids
How to make a stunning lifelike ranunculus
You will go home with
All your handmade flowers - your large rose, bud, leaves; ranunculus, hibiscus and orchid
You will be encouraged to work in your own time, without any rush or pressure. We are always keen to ensure that students have a great learning experience at our workshop and are constantly trying to change to deliver the best classes we possibly can. The class will be limited to a maximum of 12 students.
We appreciate that some students will be quicker than others. If this is the case, your teacher will demonstrate some simpler realistic flowers for you to work with. Please do not feel that you must try to finish everything!
Here are some sugar roses and lilies that Graziella's students made in one of her Realistic Roses and Lilies class that she regularly teaches at Fair Cake. As you can see, all the students achieved a very high standard in just two days!
All ingredients and equipment for the day are provided, you do not need to bring anything with you! If in doubt about your suitability for this class, please call us on 0208 305 1756 to discuss before you book a place. You do not need to bring anything with you for this class – we will provide all the ingredients and equipment.
Please note that pictures are for illustrative purposes only.
