In this course you will learn Marianne's signature recipe for vegan chocolate cake, which makes perfect layer cakes and cupcakes. You will also learn the best recipe & tips for making easy, delicious and stable vegan crusting buttercream.
The sponges will be pre-baked so they are easier to layer, but you will watch a full demo & leave with the recipe and total confidence to make it at home! You will learn how to trim, layer and mask your cakes to a professional finish, including how to get relatively sharp edges on buttercream.
Marianne will explain how to flavour your vegan buttercream in different ways, including her top tips for maximum taste impact. She will also take you through her top choices for vegan products including the tastiest and most cost-friendly vegan butters and chocolate, as well as which cake decorating products are/are not vegan friendly.
You will learn how to make your own wafer paper rolled roses and create a modern-look wafer paper wrap for your cake, using your choice of colours. Finally, you will complete your cake with a stipple effect on the buttercream, edible dried rosebuds and edible gold painting using 100% vegan products.
